The Tracker Traders was a simple single product ecommerce store and the first website I made using Shopify’s CMS.
I sourced the product and fulfilled orders through AliExpress (dropshipping).
I made the most of a family holiday to Greece by using it as an opportunity to take some beautiful product photos.

I chose the boldest photo to be the main image of my ad campaign (I looked like an idiot on the aeroplane).
I ran two A/B tests in my ad campaign:
- Does a Facebook audience interested in “Tracking” convert more than an untargeted audience?
- Does the bold ad image above convert more than a traditional looking lifestyle ad image?
I ran the campaign for a week (~£50 spend) and made 8 sales (~£70 revenue), after all the orders were fulfilled, I had lost £10.
The small campaign meant the A/B test results were inconclusive, however 6 out of the 8 orders came from the bold image ad.
Below is a screenshot I took when I got my first ever online sale. I was over the moon!
